Syria: Pier No. 4 at Tartus port enters commercial service with the arrival of the first ships

On Tuesday, Pier No. 4 at the port of Tartus in Syria entered the stage of actual commercial operation, with the arrival of the first ships and the start of docking and handling operations.

This comes after the completion of the handover procedures, along with its facilities, installations, and storage yards, and its integration into the port's operational system, within the framework of the joint understandings with the Russian side.

The arrival of the first ship marked the commencement of docking and handling operations at the pier, signaling the start of its commercial activity, in a step that would enhance the operational capabilities of the port of Tartous, and expand its ability to receive ships and deal with multiple types of cargo.

The dock includes facilities and storage yards that support handling and storage operations, which contributes to improving the flow of goods, increasing the efficiency of operations and accelerating the work cycle within the port.

The entry of Pier No. 4 into the commercial operation phase represents a new step in the development of the infrastructure of the port of Tartous, and an increase in its capacity and operational capabilities, which enhances its ability to keep pace with trade and maritime transport, and supports the role of Syrian ports in the movement of the economy and trade exchange.
