The Garda Indonesia Online Motorcycle Taxi Drivers Association believes that the government's regulation regarding profit sharing between online motorcycle taxi drivers and app companies is a signal that state policies are starting to have a real impact on drivers' economic well-being.
Previously, drivers received 80 percent of trip revenue, while the app provider received 20 percent. Through Presidential Regulation No. 27 of 2026 concerning the Protection of Online Transportation Workers, the driver's share of revenue increased to 92 percent, with the app provider receiving a maximum of 8 percent.
"This is an important signal that state policies are starting to have a real impact on the economic lives of online transportation drivers ," said Raden Igun Wicaksono, Chairman of the Garda Indonesia Online Motorcycle Taxi Drivers Association.
