The Iraqi military leadership confirms the withdrawal of the international coalition on schedule

The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, Sabah al-Nu’man, confirmed Baghdad’s strict and precise commitment to the specified date for the withdrawal of the international coalition forces from the country.

At the same time, he stressed the government’s clear vision regarding the issue of weapons and the integration of armed formations under the umbrella of the legitimate state.

Regarding the foreign presence, Al-Nu’man reiterated that the withdrawal of the international coalition forces will be completed on schedule on September 30, reflecting the state’s sovereignty and the independence of its national decision.

Regarding the issue of weapons, the military spokesman explained that the Iraqi government is very keen to regulate weapons and confine them to the hands of the state, noting that the legitimacy that these weapons enjoy is rooted in the national and historical role played by the armed factions and formations in supporting the security establishment and protecting the country.

Al-Nu’man stressed that “the weapon that protected the land” will not be marginalized, but will inevitably fall under the legitimate umbrella of the state, where its sons will be honored and their great sacrifices will be recognized, within the framework of a comprehensive national vision aimed at strengthening the rule of law and building a unified and strong national security institution.
