The Ministry of Creative Economy involves local governments in developing the gaming ecosystem

The Ministry of Creative Economy  is engaging local governments in efforts to grow and develop the gaming ecosystem in accordance with the 2026–2045 Creative Economy Master Plan.

Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya explained that Presidential Regulation Number 37 of 2026 concerning the 2026–2045 Creative Economy Master Plan includes regulations on collaboration between ministries and institutions as well as the role of regional governments in developing creative economy businesses, including game development.

We don't want all game enthusiasts, whether board game enthusiasts or digital game enthusiasts , to run to the central association. We want local governments to be their foster parents.

"So this ecosystem can also develop with the involvement of local governments," he said during a discussion session on game development efforts at the 2026 Indonesian Game Day  event.

He said that the 2026–2045 Creative Economy Master Plan includes efforts to grow the national gaming industry as part of the creative economy development strategy in Indonesia.

The government's strategy to support the development of the creative economy during the 2026 to 2029 period, according to him, includes financing, marketing, training, and investment for creative economy businesses.
