Tottenham Hotspur extends Micky van de Ven's contract

Tottenham Hotspur has officially extended the contract of Dutch center-back Micky van de Ven until the 2026 summer transfer window.

"We are delighted to announce that Micky van de Ven has signed a new contract with the club," Tottenham.

Tottenham did not reveal the length of Van de Ven's new contract. However, several British media reports said the player signed a deal until 2031.

Van de Ven joined Tottenham from VfL Wolfsburg in August 2023. Since then, he has developed into a key member of Spurs' backline.

Van de Ven was a key part of Tottenham's Europa League triumph in 2025. One of his best moments came in the final against Manchester United when he made a crucial save to clear the ball off the goal line.

The 25-year-old defender also demonstrated his leadership qualities by captaining Tottenham for the final six games of last season under Roberto De Zerbi.

"This is a special moment to sign a new contract and a proud moment for me and my family," Van de Ven told Tottenham's official website.

"I've always loved Spurs since I first arrived here. I love the club and the fans and have developed really well here," he said.
