Unemployment in Russia is at its lowest level among G20 countries

Data from national statistics agencies, seen by the Novosti news agency, showed that Russia recorded the lowest unemployment rate among the G20 countries at the end of the second quarter of the year.

The percentage of the non-working population in Russia at the end of June was 2.2%, the same percentage recorded at the end of the first quarter, marking the lowest level among the world's largest economies.

Japan came in second after its unemployment rate fell to 2.5% in June, compared to 2.7% in March.

South Korea came in third with a rate of 2.7%, unchanged from the level recorded at the beginning of spring.

South Africa was the only country in the group where the percentage of the non-working population reached 32.7%.

The list of countries with the highest unemployment rates also included France at 8.3% and Argentina at 7.8%, according to the latest available data.
