Moscow is preparing to host the third round of the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Jiu-Jitsu Championship for the 2026-2027 season on August 29 and 30.
Moscow is an important stop on the season's calendar as the competition for points and strengthening positions in the Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Professionals World Ranking continues.
The tournament will be held with the participation of 1220 male and female players from 32 countries, with 85 black belt holders standing out among the participants, indicating the expected technical level of the competitions.
As the date of the fights approaches, Moscow becomes a meeting place for different schools of Jiu-Jitsu, as players arrive with ambitions that go beyond winning medals, and each player brings his own story and ambition to the mat.
Among the participants is Brazilian Jonathan Silva, a black belt holder, who is preparing to take on a new challenge in Moscow against a group of top competitors.
Silva said in a statement on this occasion that participating in the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam represents an important test for any black belt player, especially with the diversity of schools and styles that the tournament brings together.
He added: "When you reach a championship of this size, you know that every fight will be different. There are no easy matches in the black belt. Having players from 32 countries makes the competition more diverse, and that is what we, as players, are looking for: to face different styles and schools and to test ourselves every time we step onto the mat."
