Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact racer David Almansa secured pole position in Qualification 2 (Q2) of the 2026 Moto3 San Marino Grand Prix at the Misano Circuit, Italy, Saturday, while Indonesian racer Veda Ega Pratama was ranked 16th.

The MotoGP page stated that this result put Almansa in pole position for the main race.

The Spanish rider secured pole position for Moto3 after becoming the fastest rider with a time of 1 minute 40.612 seconds.

Almansa led by 0.217 seconds, or 1 minute 40.829 seconds, with Brian Uriarte in second place. Joel Kelso completed the front row, clocking 1 minute 41.009 seconds, 0.397 seconds behind Almansa.

Besides those three riders, Valentin Perrone finished fourth with a time of 1 minute 41.111 seconds. Meanwhile, Moto3 standings leader Maximo Quiles followed in fifth with a time of 1 minute 41.127 seconds.

Matteo Bertelle finished sixth, followed by Casey O'Gorman, Rico Salmela, Alvaro Carpe, and Scott Ogden who rounded out the top 10.

Next, Adrian Fernandez is in 11th place and Ryusei Yamanaka is in 12th place.

This result makes the front row of the Moto3 championship at Misano a tight race. The time difference between Almansa and Quiles is just 0.515 seconds, making the top five positions potentially a fierce battle during the race.

Meanwhile, Honda Team Asia's Indonesian racer, Veda Ega Pratama, finished 16th. Veda clocked a time of 1 minute 42.041 seconds, 1.429 seconds behind Almansa.

Veda had previously secured a spot in Q2 after finishing 13th in the Moto3 practice session, thus avoiding Q1. MotoGP notes that the 14 fastest riders in practice qualify directly for Q2.
