Former Boca Juniors legend Carlos Tevez has revealed news that could be one of the most anticipated football events, after confirming that he has obtained the approval of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo to play together on the same team
The Argentine and Portuguese stars are set to appear on the same team during Tevez's farewell match, scheduled for December 2026 at La Bombonera stadium in the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires.
Tevez said he had always dreamed of seeing Messi and Ronaldo play together, explaining that he had contacted the two stars and asked them to participate in his farewell match.
He added: "I've always dreamed of seeing Cristiano and Leo play on the same team. They are the greatest players of all time."
Tevez explained that Ronaldo agreed to participate, and convincing Messi to participate was not difficult, confirming that the two stars had indeed agreed to play the match.
The match takes on a special character for Tevez, who has previously played alongside Messi with the Argentine national team, and alongside Ronaldo during his time at Manchester United.
The pair playing on the same team would give fans a rare opportunity to see the two biggest stars of their generation sharing the pitch in one jersey, even if only in an exhibition match.
