Chrome is fixing its vulnerabilities with artificial intelligence, resulting in faster updates

Google has accelerated the update rate of its Chrome web browser, releasing a security update every two weeks instead of every four, thanks to artificial intelligence models developed by the company according.

In the statement accompanying the release of version 153 of "Chrome" for desktop computers, iPhones and Android phones, Google explained that this change comes as part of a new security strategy that the company is following to keep pace with the era of artificial intelligence.
The new strategy comes in response to an increased rate of vulnerability discovery using artificial intelligence models, as well as vulnerabilities found and reported by the user community.

In a"Cyber Security News" indicated that Google had previously used artificial intelligence agents to find and fix 1,072 vulnerabilities in the Chrome browser.

A vulnerability discovered that had been hidden for 13 years
The cybersecurity team at Chrome was able to find these vulnerabilities by developing artificial intelligence agents using Google’s Gemini model, as a large part of these vulnerabilities were located in the public library of Chromium browsers.

Thanks to this mechanism, the team discovered a security vulnerability in the Chrome browser's test box that had remained hidden for more than 13 years.

This vulnerability allows the code to escape the isolated testing environment within the browser, making it able to access the data contained within it as well as files stored on the computer.

Google explained that its AI-powered vulnerability-hunting agents rely on more than one methodology when reviewing Chrome's source code, including previously discovered vulnerabilities, cybersecurity documentation, and even the browser's memory and operating mechanism.

Chrome in the race for AI-powered browsers
Competition in the browser sector has intensified recently, with many companies directly integrating artificial intelligence technologies into their browsers.
