the Turkish Foreign Ministry, Fidan presented his assessments during the meeting held on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
In addition to Minister Fidan, officials from Germany, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Qatar, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia participated in the meeting, where the UN-sponsored political process in Libya was discussed, along with economic prosperity and security issues.
In his speech during the meeting, Fidan stressed that the stability and security of Libya are of paramount importance to the entire region.
He affirmed that Türkiye will continue to make its active contributions in this regard.
Fidan referred to his visit to Libya on August 11 and 12, during which he held meetings and discussions in the cities of Tripoli (west) and Benghazi (east).
He reaffirmed Türkiye’s support for ongoing initiatives to form a unified government within the framework of the “One Libya” policy.
The Turkish minister stressed the importance of international partners conducting a dialogue with all parties and actors in Libya without discrimination.
He stressed the need to provide support for steps taken under Libyan leadership and sponsorship.
Fidan also noted that Türkiye continues to provide uninterrupted contributions to capacity building for the integration and strengthening of economic and security institutions in Libya.
He affirmed Türkiye’s readiness to play a pivotal role in the next stages in areas that require support, including development and security.
