Five Russian gymnasts are participating in the World Challenge Cup, which is being hosted by the French capital, Paris, on September 26 and 27.
According to Russian media reports quoting the Russian Gymnastics Federation, the list of participants includes Varvara Belova, Matvey Akinshin, Timofey Akinshin, Ilya Zaika and Alexey Rostov.
The championship competitions are held on individual apparatus only, without all-around individual competitions, where participants compete in separate exercises on different apparatus.
The International Gymnastics Federation announced last May that Russian athletes would be allowed to participate in international tournaments with the Russian flag raised and the national anthem played, noting that some restrictions might continue in tournaments that were approved before the decision was issued.
