France praises Indonesian Air Force's parachuting performance at Pegase 2026

French Armed Forces Minister Catherine Vautrin praised the static parachute jump carried out by personnel from the Indonesian Air Force's Parachute Brigade I Corps of the Indonesian Air Force from an A400M aircraft.
The parachuting action was carried out as part of the Pegase 2026 Joint Exercise  which was held at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base.

"My team has reported to me that they were very impressed with the performance this morning, especially the parachuting. They tip their hats to the TNI's capabilities," Vautrin said during a press conference at the Ministry of Defense building.

According to Vautrin, the performance indicated that the TNI has adequate quality in terms of soldiers and defense equipment in carrying out military operations.

He also appreciated the overall joint Pegase training activities between the Indonesian Air Force and the French Air Force.

According to him, the Pegase event is an important moment for the Indonesian National Armed Forces  and the French military to strengthen bilateral relations between Indonesia and France.

The Pegase event, he continued, also opens up opportunities for Indonesia and France to develop defense cooperation in other areas, one of which is military education.

Therefore, his party is opening up opportunities for TNI officers and soldiers who wish to study in France in a soldier exchange program.

"France will always be happy to welcome cadets or officers who wish to undertake education and training in France, at the French Armed Forces schools," Vautrin said.

It is known that the Indonesian Air Force conducted a trial of deploying troops using an A400M transport aircraft.
