A rock in one of the mountainous regions of Türkiye has become a remarkable destination for visitors after Egyptian star Mohamed Salah posted a picture of himself during his short vacation sitting on it, and the picture quickly became a local phenomenon.
Salah, the Trabzonspor star, took advantage of the break to visit the Kurtdere plateau, where he took a spontaneous photo on top of one of the rocks, before sharing it with his followers on social media.
After the picture spread, the number of visitors to the place increased, as many were keen to reach the rock itself and take pictures similar to the picture of the Egyptian star, until some called it “Mohamed Salah’s rock”.
It didn't stop at the pictures, as Salah's name appeared on the rock, while the area began to attract more tourist attention, with its inclusion in some of the tourist trips and programs that visitors frequent.
Ertugrul Dogan, president of Trabzonspor, confirmed that Salah's visits to the mountainous regions are personal and not related to a publicity campaign, noting that the player is very much in tune with the atmosphere of the city.
Dogan explained that Salah enjoys exploring Trabzon's nature and highlands, and even visits places that the city's residents may not have enough time to visit, in a scene that reflects the extent of the Egyptian player's popularity in Turkey, which has gone beyond the limits of football.
