The third and most worrying scenario, according to the automated system, is the transformation of human control into a mere formality.

The estimate is far lower than some of the predictions made by engineers and researchers in the field of artificial intelligence safety, as the experiment came after AI researcher Jacob Cookson announced his resignation from Anthropic, warning that companies were gambling with human lives.

The system analyzed the question from 41 different angles and conducted 108 searches to verify the information, relying on approximately 52 million data points before arriving at its final estimate.

He concluded that the probability is 0.85%, which is less than 1%, but this does not mean - according to the newspaper - that the risk can be ignored, especially since some scenarios may include irreversible results.

First risk: Harmful human intervention

Noah Bridkut identifies the first danger as the potential for third parties to exploit artificial intelligence to carry out dangerous tasks such as cyber or biological attacks more quickly and efficiently.

However, he emphasizes - according to the newspaper - that the machine alone does not have hostile intentions, but rather depends on the human operator.

The second danger: the collapse of institutions

The report also points to the risk of companies using artificial intelligence to reorganize the labor market at a speed that outstrips employees' ability to retrain or move to new jobs.

He says the threat could worsen if organizations become so reliant on automated services that they lose the ability to operate independently in the event of a malfunction, attack, or a wrong automated decision.
