The Indonesian national basketball team lost to Japan in their first match in Group A of the 2026 Asian Games basketball tournament at the Aichi International Arena in Nagoya.

In that match, Indonesia had to admit Japan's superiority with a fairly convincing score of 98-53 after four quarters, according to Asian Games records.
Japanese player Kazuma Tsuya managed to score the most points in this match with 23 points, while from Indonesia there was Lester Prosper with 13 points.
This defeat places Indonesia in fourth place in the Group A standings for the 2026 Asian Games basketball event, behind Japan, South Korea, and Saudi Arabia.
