Indonesian national team defender Justin Hubner emphasized that his team's fight to become the 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup champion is not over yet, even though his team failed to beat Malaysia in their second Group A match.
Playing at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium who played with 10 players from the 36th minute, had to be satisfied with sharing points with Malaysia after the two teams drew 0-0.
"Yes, of course. I don't think it's over yet. So, we're focused on the next match, and hopefully we can beat Bangladesh in the next match," said Justin Hubner when met in the mixed zone of the GBK Stadium after the match.
This result keeps Indonesia in second place in Group A with four points, behind Malaysia in first place on goal difference.
With only the group winners qualifying for the FIFA ASEAN Cup final, Indonesia must beat Bangladesh in their final match on Thursday (1/10) to maintain their hopes of winning the title, while hoping the outcome of the other match between Malaysia and Singapore will be in their favor.
