The iPhone 18 Pro, which Apple recently began releasing to the market, is facing low demand compared to previous generations of the phone, as a financial analyst at GF Securities described it as lukewarm compared to the past, according to a report by the American tech website MacRumors.

Due to weak demand, analyst Jeff Pu predicted that Apple would reduce its production rate of new phones across all categories, whether they are "Pro" or "Pro Max" or even the new foldable phone "iPhone Duo" which is expected to be released at the end of next October.
Bo's estimates are consistent with a previous report published by the American tech website "AppleInsider," which noted the availability of all phones without any delays in shipments across most models.
Despite this, some different colors and sizes saw better demand in the "iPhone 18 Pro Max" category, but it is not close to the demand for previous generations that used to sell out in minutes.
The Apple Insider report measured the volume of demand based on the delay in delivering orders in US stores, explaining that the demand for the 256GB iPhone 18 Pro Max in the new cherry color saw the highest demand rate, and it sold out about 30 minutes after it became available, but the delay rate in delivering future orders did not exceed two weeks.
It is worth noting that the delivery rate for the iPhone 17 Pro reached 4 weeks after its release, according to a separate report from the American tech website PhoneArena.
The situation is even worse with the iPhone 18 Pro, as a MacRumors report indicates that the devices took longer to sell out at various Apple stores.
Why did this happen?
In his interview with MacRumors, Bo predicted that the main reason was due to minor changes in the device's specifications compared to previous generations, as well as a $100 price increase.
He also pointed out that the "Pro Max" devices will lose a large part of their annual buyers due to the launch of the "iPhone Duo" and its delay compared to the rest of the company's devices.
The AppleInsider report cites another reason, suggesting that Apple was better prepared for the demand for devices, and therefore was able to deliver the devices in a timely manner.
There are other reasons that could contribute to reducing demand for new devices, most notably the low value of trading in old devices. Apple has published a list that includes the value of its various devices in case of exchange, starting with the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
