Columbus Crew sn thrilling 2-1 victory from their guest Inter Miami, after Jamal Tiari scored a killer goal in the eighth minute of stoppage time, in a match that witnessed a remarkable performance from star Lionel Messi.
Columbus took the lead through Josef Martinez from a penalty kick, before Argentine Messi equalized for Inter Miami in the 33rd minute in a brilliant fashion, after executing a direct free kick with his left foot from a difficult angle, with the ball settling into the far top corner, at a time when the home team's defense expected the Argentine star to send it across.
The goal raised Messi's tally to 12 direct free-kick goals for Inter Miami in all competitions, including 6 goals this season, and also brought his total to 21 goals in the American league.
In the second half, Messi tried to give his team the lead, but Columbus goalkeeper Patrick Schulte saved a long-range shot from the Argentine star, while another attempt went just wide of the post.
Inter Miami's task became more complicated after their substitute player, Santiago Morales, was sent off, allowing Columbus to exploit the numerical disadvantage in the final moments.
In the 98th minute, Jamal Tiari followed up on a rebound from Inter Miami goalkeeper Rocco Rios Novo and put it into the net, giving Columbus a dramatic 2-1 victory.

The match comes before Messi heads to Argentina to prepare to play with his national team in a friendly against Benin on October 6 at the Monumental Stadium in Buenos Aires.
