Indonesian mixed doubles coach Nova Widianto has confirmed that he will strive to restore the glory days of the Indonesian badminton mixed doubles team to international glory after returning to the PBSI National Training Center.

"There's a tough task ahead, but that's a challenge, so I'm ready. I'm trying to restore Indonesia's mixed doubles glory ," said Nova Widianto at the PBSI National Training Center Media Day event.
Nova previously joined the Badminton Association of Malaysia as head coach of mixed doubles in January 2023. Nova led Chen Tang Jie/Toh Ee Wei to the world title in 2025.
He ended his term at the end of July 2026 and returned to Indonesia, joining the PBSI National Training Center to train the Indonesian mixed doubles team.
The coach from Klaten, Central Java, said he was happy to be able to return to coaching badminton in his homeland.
He admitted that returning to coach the Indonesian mixed doubles team was a tough task, as he had to start from scratch to revive the team's achievements, which had been fading since the era of coach Richard Mainaky.
