The application includes a very simple photo editing tool that is available for free within it, and it often replaces photo editing tools that require separate subscriptions, within the limits of the main uses that are consistent with the idea of presentations, according to a report by the tech website "Make Uses Off".
The image editing tool is available in all versions of PowerPoint released from the end of 2025 to the beginning of 2026; therefore, make sure to update the application to the latest version so that you can benefit from it.

Remove backgrounds
The image editing tool in PowerPoint allows you to easily remove and empty the backgrounds of various images in the way you want with a single click of a button.
All you need to do is add the image directly to the presentation as usual and then press the Remove Background button that appears.
The idea behind presentations is mostly based on a large number of images contained within them, which directly causes an increase in the size of the presentation file.
PowerPoint includes a special tool that allows the user to compress the image size and make it smaller than the original size to suit transfer via different methods, whether via email or even printing and uploading via the Internet.
You can access the image compression options directly by pressing the compression button in the image editing settings menu, and then choosing the appropriate size you want.
Image specifications modification
Some users need to make images clearer by increasing the resolution or brightness of the image, or even making its components sharper or smoother.
Such modifications usually required the use of professional applications such as Photoshop or Canva, but recent versions of PowerPoint now include these settings under an option called Fixes.

Cropping and resizing images
This is one of the most common uses in the PowerPoint application, because the user usually needs to resize the image to fit a particular frame or remove part of the image to fit the size of the presentation.
Previously, this required transferring the image to a professional application and editing it there separately, then returning it to PowerPoint, but now you can do this directly from within the application.
You can take advantage of this feature by clicking on the crop button, then choosing the size and dimensions of the new image as you wish, either manually or by choosing one of the pre-existing sizes.
