Report: Washington plans to inject millions of dollars to support right-wing media in Europe

Media reports have revealed that the US administration plans to spend $4 million to support right-wing media outlets in Europe.

This came according to a report by Newsmax, citing informed sources.

Reports indicated that this amount would be included in a broader funding package of at least $25 million, directed towards associations and organizations concerned with civil society affairs and promoting the conservative agenda in the Old Continent. They added that the necessary documents for approving this funding had already been submitted to the US Congress for ratification.

In this context, sources warned that these grants could further inflame escalating tensions between President Donald Trump’s administration and European governments, especially since some European capitals have already accused Washington of interfering in their internal affairs and domestic policies.

For its part, the relevant offices in the US State Department justified this approach, stressing that these funds are intended to strengthen transatlantic ties and support freedom of expression.

This move comes in conjunction with preparations for elections scheduled to take place in a number of European countries over the next two years.

According to details provided by the sources, $3 million will be allocated to a program aimed at analyzing the challenges facing democracy in Europe, while the remaining $1 million will be directed towards creating a network of independent journalists who highlight issues of national sovereignty, natural rights, and religious freedoms.

In this regard, the US State Department confirmed that these funds are not used to directly finance political parties.

It is worth noting that American businessman Elon Musk stated a few days ago that Marine Le Pen, leader of the parliamentary group of the French far-right National Rally party, is "France's last hope" in the 2027 presidential elections.
