Professor Cengiz Atilla stated that the findings of researchers in the search area for Noah's Ark near Mount Ararat in Türkiye may astound humanity.
He says: “The 2026 season of the search for Noah’s Ark near Mount Ararat has ended. During the excavations, we discovered pottery vessels believed to date back to before the Great Flood. Soil samples were sent to Ankara for analysis, and the analysis process is still ongoing. Although we have not yet reached a final conclusion, we have data that will soon be published in scientific articles and books, and it will amaze humanity.”
According to him, research is underway on a rock formation resembling a giant ship in the Durupinar region, 28 kilometers from Mount Ararat. The formation is 164 meters long, equivalent to 300 cubits, the size mentioned for the ark in the Old Testament.
Professor Attila had previously stated that the search for Noah's Ark began in late June, involving approximately 20 scientists from five countries. Three-dimensional models of the search area were created, and GPS coordinates were used to pinpoint locations specifically for this research. The area was also surveyed using radar systems belonging to the US military.
Shortly afterward, researchers discovered numerous voids and intersecting structures converging on several levels toward the central part of the formation. They also found that the amount of carbon extracted from its interior was 40% higher than that extracted from its surface. This may indicate the presence of organic materials or woody remains, which, according to the researchers, increases the likelihood that Noah's Ark lies at the foot of Mount Ararat.
It should be noted that, according to the biblical narrative, Noah, at God's command, built an ark to save his family and animals from the Great Flood. After the waters receded, the ark came to rest on Mount Ararat.
In 1949, a U.S. Air Force plane, during a secret mission, took pictures of a geological formation in the Durupinar region, which the scientific community called the "Ararat Anomaly".
