Russian boxers continued their journey in the European Championship held in the Bulgarian capital, Sofia, after a number of representatives of the Russian national team secured their places in the semi-finals.
In the men's competition, David Sorov qualified for the semi-finals in the over 90 kg weight category, after defeating Armenian Davit Chaloyan.
In the under 50 kg category, Bayer Batlayev defeated Spaniard Martin Molina Salvador, while Vyacheslav Rogozin secured his place in the next round after defeating Pole Nicholas Pawlik in the under 55 kg category.
Sergei Koldenkov also continued his run in the tournament after defeating Spaniard Frank Martinez Nenad in the under 70 kg weight category.
In the up to 85 kg weight class, Dmitry Karmanov achieved a convincing 5-0 victory over Spaniard Adrian Fresneda Ricardo, to reach the semi-finals, where he will meet Croatian Antonio Grabic.
In the women's competition, Azalea Amineva qualified for the semi-finals in the under 65 kg weight category, after defeating Croatian Sara Peram.
Nadezhda Golubeva also secured her place in the same round in the up to 70 kg weight category, after defeating Poland's Barbara Marcinkowska.
The tournament is held under the umbrella of the World Boxing Organization, and Russia participates in the competitions with its national flag and official anthem.
The European Championship is scheduled to conclude in Sofia on September 25.
