Palestinians, including a child, were killed and others were injured on Saturday as a result of Israeli shelling and gunfire targeting various areas in the central and southern Gaza Strip, in the latest Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement in effect since October 10, 2025.
A medical source at the field hospital of the International Committee of the Red Cross reported the arrival of the body of the child Muhammad Saif al-Din al-Shakhrit, after Israeli army vehicles opened fire towards tents of displaced people in the Mawasi Rafah area, south of the Gaza Strip.
Earlier, a Palestinian was killed and another injured in a drone strike by an Israeli aircraft near the Al-Nouri Tower in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, according to a medical source.
Hours earlier, a medical source reported that three Palestinians, including a child, were injured when an Israeli drone targeted civilians in the city of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, noting that one of the injured was in critical condition.
Simultaneously, Israeli military vehicles fired heavily towards tents of displaced people in the vicinity of Hamad residential city, north of Khan Yunis, according to local sources.
The sources added that Israeli vehicles also fired towards areas south of the city, with no immediate reports of casualties.
In the northern Gaza Strip, eyewitnesses said that Israeli gunboats opened fire on fishing boats off the coast of Gaza City.
Israeli artillery also shelled areas east of the Al-Tuffah and Al-Shuja'iya neighborhoods, east of Gaza City, with no injuries reported.
Remains of 7 Palestinians recovered from under the rubble of two houses
the Civil Defense Authority in the Gaza Strip announced on Saturday the recovery of the remains of seven Palestinians from under the rubble of two houses in the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip and the Yarmouk area in Gaza City.
The Civil Defense said in a statement that the rescue operations took place from under the rubble of two houses belonging to the “Nuweiri” family in the Nuseirat camp and the “Attallah” family in the Yarmouk area, during search operations among the rubble.
This comes as part of the ongoing search operations under the second phase of the “Recovering the Bodies of Martyrs” project launched by the Civil Defense on July 19, with the aim of recovering the remains of the missing persons buried under the rubble of buildings destroyed by Israel, despite the limited capabilities and mechanisms available to the crews.
Since October 8, 2023, more than 73,000 Palestinians have been killed and more than 174,000 injured in the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, according to data from the Ministry of Health in the Strip, while estimates indicate that about 90 percent of the infrastructure in the Strip has been destroyed.
