The U.S. Fine Arts Commission previously approved the architectural design for the proposed arch on Columbia Island, along the route between the Lincoln Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery. The structure itself is expected to reach a height of approximately 51 meters. With the addition of the Winged Lady Liberty statue at its apex, it will reach a height of approximately 76 meters.
Some veterans have filed lawsuits to stop the construction of the project, arguing that the arch, which US President Donald Trump boasted would be "the biggest ever," could obstruct the view of the graves of "America's fallen heroes."

The White House launches 5 games on its website inspired by Trump's policies
The White House website has launched five games inspired by the policies of US President Donald Trump or prominent events associated with him.
The first game is Flappy Bill, inspired by the popular game Flappy Bird. The player controls an eagle carrying a new bill in its talons, and must overcome obstacles to pass it.
The second game, Build the Wall, is similar to the classic game Tetris. Players assemble falling blocks to build a "wall" to protect the border, a reference to Trump's immigration policy.
The third game is Rio Run, inspired by the game "Snake," where a Trump-like symbol crawls through a field to collect potential "border intruders," and the more there are, the longer and more complicated the path becomes.
The fourth game, Supply Line, reflected Trump's decisions regarding healthy eating. Food products move along a production line, and the player must discover and remove those containing artificial colors or addictive additives, according to the administration's standards.
The fifth game is Trump Savings Tycoon, in which the player must catch a net to catch flying objects before they fall into the Mirror Pond in Washington, which Trump announced he would restore in 2026, claiming that vandals were trying to deface its appearance.
The White House said in a statement: "This administration is very focused on ways to innovate and tell the story of the president's many accomplishments in a way that resonates with every American."
Human rights groups criticized the White House over the online game. America Garcia Grewal, co-director of the Frontera Union in Eagle Pass, Texas, told AFP, "This disgusts me. They've been playing with people's lives for years, and now they've made a video game of what they're doing."
