A new generation of iPad Mini at a higher price what does it offer?

Amid user complaints about the iPhone Duo screens, Apple announced the new generation of its small tablet, the iPad Mini, with several improvements to the device's specifications, as well as an increase in its price by about $200 compared to the previous generation, according to the company's official announcement statement. So what does the new device offer users to justify this price increase?

The new screen that Apple used in the eighth generation iPad Mini is the most prominent point of improvement and was well received by the public as soon as it was revealed, as it used OLED screens for the first time. The company also added a range of other improvements, including the processor, communication technologies, and the use of the new front camera that the company has included in all its modern devices.

The announcement of the eighth-generation iPad Mini comes ahead of a new company conference dedicated to "Pro" devices, where it is expected to announce the new generation of "MacBook Pro" and "MacBook Ultra" computers, which will come with a touch screen for the first time in its history.

What's new in the eighth generation iPad Mini?
The differences between the seventh and eighth generations of iPad Mini devices begin with the price of the devices, even though Apple did not increase the internal storage capacity or use a new type of processor; it still uses phone processors in these computers.

The price of the new generation iPad Mini has increased to $699, compared to $499 for the previous generation when it was launched. Both start with 128GB of storage and come with a similar screen size.

The report also indicates that the new generation is thinner and lighter than the previous one, weighing about 254 grams compared to 295 grams in the previous generation, and the thickness of the device has decreased from 0.25 inches to 0.21 inches.
The new dimensions have contributed to making the screen size larger than previous generations, now reaching about 8.5 inches compared to previous generations which were 8.2 inches.

Apple also relied on the A20 Pro processor used in the iPhone 18 Pro Max, which is enhanced for artificial intelligence uses , making it support the new Apple Intelligence features and Siri AI.

Unlike previous generations, Apple offered the new generation in only two colors: "Midnight," which is black, and "Starlight," which is silver.

A completely new screen
The screen is the biggest upgrade in the eighth generation, as Apple has moved to OLED technology, which is currently used in the new iPad Pro and iPad Air tablets, making its brightness better and its color saturation better than previous generations.

To improve lighting as well, the company increased the screen brightness to 1200 nits, which is double that of previous generations.
