Al-Ahly Club expressed its deep sorrow and regret over the player's death, and the club offered its sincere condolences and sympathy to the deceased's family, his sports family, his colleagues and fans.
Sources from the family of the deceased player told local media that Moatasem had gotten off the club's bus and was on his way home when a vehicle suddenly ran him over, causing severe injuries that led to his death.
It happened around eleven o'clock on Monday evening, in the Bayader Wadi Al-Seer area of the capital, Amman.
It is worth mentioning that the late young man, Mutasim Al-Taweel, who hails from the Palestinian town of Far’ata and resides with his family in Jordan, is considered one of the youth players of Al-Ahli Club, and he previously represented Al-Hussein Club within the youth team.
