A type of tea that protects us from fat accumulation in the liver

The researchers conducted their experiments on laboratory mice, where their blood lipid levels were stimulated by a high-fat diet. They then divided 60 mice into six groups, four of which received different daily doses of "Kuding" tea extract, while another group was given the drug simvastatin, and the sixth group served as a control group. The experiment lasted eight weeks.

The results showed that "Kuding" tea contributed to a decrease in body weight and fat tissue mass in mice. Moreover, levels of total cholesterol, triglycerides and LDL cholesterol decreased, while levels of HDL cholesterol increased.

The researchers also observed improvements in liver health, with a decrease in fat deposits in liver cells and a reduction in markers of inflammation and oxidative stress. Further analysis showed that this tea extract enhanced the activity of mechanisms responsible for breaking down fatty acids by increasing the levels of three enzymes involved in fat metabolism.

Given the discovered benefits, researchers believe that this type of tea could one day become the basis for developing natural treatments for lipid metabolism disorders and fatty liver disease.
