"Besides still functioning as athletes, we as seniors also often give advice , provide input, and provide encouragement so that they are more enthusiastic in competing," said Adyos at Sky Hall Toyota, Aichi, Japan, Friday.
Adyos played this dual role without compromising his focus on the court. He opened his Group F qualifying campaign in the men's singles class 4-5 with a 3-0 victory over Nepal's Digam Chemjong.
Adyos won with a score of 11-1, 11-6, 11-3 to start the competition in a group that also included Wanchai Chaiwut from Thailand and Yoy Kosal from Cambodia.
This victory provides Adyos with the initial capital to face the next match while maintaining their chances of progressing from the group stage.
"Hopefully, today will be a boost, boosting our enthusiasm for the next match," he said.
Beyond personal goals, Adyos also wants to use his experience to help the next generation of Indonesian table tennis players.
