Japanese sports brand Asics is holding the 2026 Football Draft Combine to select three young Indonesian footballers who will have the opportunity to participate in a talent development program.

Asics Indonesia President Director Yuya Sugiyama, in an official statement received said the program targets players aged 16–18, both from football academies and non-academy pathways.
"The 2026 ASICS Football Draft Combine City Series will begin in Jakarta and then continue to three other cities. Through this program, we want to open more opportunities for young Indonesian talent to showcase their abilities and potential," said Yuya.
He hopes the program will encourage young players to dare to face new challenges, develop their potential, and expand opportunities in their football careers.
"We hope this program will encourage players to dare to try new challenges, maximize their potential, and continue to move towards greater opportunities in their football journey," he said.
In this selection, participants undergo a technical ability assessment, including shooting passing and dribbling .
In addition to technical skills, coaches and talent scouts also assess players' ability to make decisions, read match situations, and apply skills in the game.
The assessment does not only focus on the final result, but also includes the playing process, tactical understanding, and the player's response to various situations on the field.
"For young players, the opportunity to compete in a new environment and face challenges outside of their training routine is a valuable experience. This allows them to learn how to handle pressure, build confidence, and understand areas for continued improvement," said Aldi.
From this stage, the organizers will select the three best players to participate in the 2027 Football Draft Combine in Japan.
The three selected players will have the opportunity to compete with young talents from various countries to open up opportunities to play with international football clubs.
