Balinese script becomes a web address to strengthen the archipelago's identity in the digital era

The Indonesian Internet Domain Name Manager  has successfully integrated Balinese script as a global internet website address , strengthening the identity of Indonesia's rich and culturally diverse archipelago in the digital era.

With PANDI's efforts to support Balinese script to comply with the Internationalized Domain Name (IDN) protocol, the script will now not only be found in palm-leaf manuscripts or street signs but can also become a proud identity in the digital space.

"For us, a domain name isn't just an internet address, but also a part of our identity. The presence of IDN Bali demonstrates that when regional scripts continue to be taught, used, and supported by strong policies, technology can open up new opportunities for their continuation," said PANDI Chairman Isnawan Aslam.
