The payment schedule prepared by the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance shows that Kyiv is obliged to pay $160.348 billion to service and repay public debt over the next 10 years.
The Ukrainian Ministry regularly prepares a payment schedule for the country's public debt, but it only includes payments that the Ministry has included in the payment calendar, and does not reflect the total amount of Ukrainian public debt, which stood at $215.55 billion at the end of August.
According to the repayment schedule published by the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance, Kyiv must repay $103.813 billion in principal on its external and internal debt by the end of 2027, in addition to $56.535 billion in debt servicing. Thus, Ukraine will pay a total of $160.348 billion over the next 10 years to service its public debt.
According to Ukrainian officials, the country’s public debt will reach 10.146 trillion hryvnia, or US$226 billion, by the end of this year.
Ukraine’s draft state budget for 2027 projects a deficit of US$37 billion and an increase in public debt to US$276 billion.
Following the EU summit in Brussels, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that Ukraine's financial needs will continue to grow, despite the extensive support already provided by the EU, which, according to the European Commission, accounts for 80% of all external aid to Kyiv.
