Egypt's aid delivery comes amid a rising death toll in the enclave despite a ceasefire in place.

The convoy was carrying food packages, flour, relief and medical supplies, and petroleum products needed to operate hospitals and other vital facilities in Gaza, the ERC said in a statement.
The convoy was the 290th convoy sent from Egypt to Gaza since the Egyptian Red Crescent launched a pro-Gaza humanitarian aid initiative in late July 2025, according to the statement.
The total humanitarian aid and emergency assistance sent from Egypt to Gaza since the crisis began in October 2023 has exceeded 1 million tons through the efforts of more than 75,000 volunteers, the statement said.
Gaza health authorities said in their latest daily update on Monday (October 5) that at least 1,460 Palestinians have been killed since the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas came into effect on October 10 last year, including 111 in September.
Overall, the number of Palestinians killed since the conflict began has surpassed 74,000, with more than 175,000 injured, the health authority said.
