Imam/Fairuz represent Indonesia in the semifinals of the AVC Suma Open 2026

The Indonesian beach volleyball team, Imam Ahmad Faisal and Fairuz Bayhaqly, became the country's only representatives in the semifinals of the AVC Beach Tour Suma Open 2026 after defeating Australian pair Oliver Merritt and Jed Walker in the quarterfinals.

Kai/Adachi advanced to the final four after defeating Indonesian representatives and 2026 Asian Games silver medalists Bintang Akbar/Sofyan Efendi in the quarterfinals, 18-21, 21-19, 15-13.

Indonesia was supposed to send three representatives to the 2026 Suma Open. Another team, Ferza Mulyo Prasetyo/Akbar Rizqi Purnomosidi, had to stop in the group stage.

For Imam/Faisal, their achievement at the AVC Suma Open was their best performance of the 2026 AVC Beach Tour.

Imam/Faisal also took part in the 2026 Asian Games, where they reached the round of 16 before losing to China's Wu Jiaxin/Zhou Chaowei 13-21, 11-21.
