Iran is reviewing the latest US points

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said  that his country is reviewing the latest points put forward by the United States (US) in response to Iran's position, and that Iran will convey its views to mediators as soon as the review is completed.

In a weekly press conference in Tehran, Baghaei outlined the latest US response delivered to Iran through mediators regarding Iran's "seven-day plan."

He added that the plan essentially demands the restoration of Tehran's legitimate rights.

On September 22, Iran presented a plan to the US to cease hostilities and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

The plan, which later became known as the seven-day plan, was conveyed through mediators on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations (UN) General Assembly in New York.

Baghaei mentioned a number of conditions put forward by Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, including the lifting of the US naval blockade, an end to the war on all fronts, and the release of frozen Iranian assets.

These conditions are stated in the peace memorandum of understanding  signed by Tehran and Washington in June.

Baghaei said the conditions have not changed, and Iran will not show any flexibility regarding its rights.

According to the spokesman, the US had previously made a number of demands and continued to claim that the Iranian nuclear issue remained its top concern.

Iran's Supreme National Security Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaei said on Sunday (October 11) that the US had accepted some of his country's seven conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz. However, uncertainty remains over Washington's stance on Iran's other demands.

On February 28, Israel and the US launched a joint attack on Tehran and several other Iranian cities. Iran retaliated with a series of missile and drone attacks targeting Israel and US bases and assets in the region. Iran also tightened its control over the Strait of Hormuz.

A ceasefire between the warring parties was reached on April 8. On June 18, Iran and the US signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the cessation of hostilities in the region on all fronts.

Under the MoU, the two countries are scheduled to hold negotiations within 60 days, with a deadline of August 17, to reach a final agreement on Iran's nuclear program and the lifting of sanctions.
