Iranian Chief of Staff Ali Abdollahi asserted that the return of US forces to the Gulf is a dream that US President Donald Trump will take with him to his grave.

Abdullahi said: "The armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran have managed to neutralize the US Navy, which Trump and his country's leaders consider the pinnacle of American power and use to threaten the region and the world."
He noted that it was no longer able to approach the seas surrounding the Gulf or Iranian territorial waters.
He stressed that the US president can only dream of the return of his military forces to the Gulf, a wish he will take with him to his grave.
He added that Iran will not allow, under any circumstances and at any time, US military vessels to enter the waters of the Gulf.
He pointed out that "Trump repeatedly claims that Iranian nuclear facilities have been destroyed, while at the same time constantly stressing the need for Iran not to possess nuclear weapons, which is a blatant and endless contradiction."
He asked: "If you have destroyed everything, what is the point of repeating such delusional claims? These contradictory and repetitive statements, which are completely devoid of logic, are intended only to mislead global public opinion, and especially the American people."
He added: “If you are absolutely certain that you have eliminated all of Iran’s military capabilities and resources, then why do your rusty warships, naval vessels, and cowardly military forces not dare to approach the Strait of Hormuz or Iran’s maritime and land borders?”
