Journalist: The news of the discovery of Noah's Ark is an attempt to attract tourists

Journalist Alexander Sokolov, founder and editor-in-chief of the science and educational portal Antropogenez.ru, asserts that the news of the discovery of the remains of Noah's Ark on Mount Ararat in Türkiye is an attempt to attract tourists.

He says, "It depends on what the person is looking for. When we talk about searching for scientific truth, that's one thing, but when we talk about attracting tourists to a particular tourist attraction, it's completely different. Currently, these enthusiasts are still looking for something. But there has been a tourist center there since the 1980s. And the 'Noah's Ark Survey' project itself, which is involved in this, also sells tours to the site for $3,600. So, if they really wanted to, of course they could find the DNA there, and they would easily find it. But why isn't there any DNA there? Perhaps an animal died there thousands of years ago, and its DNA was preserved there."

Sokolov points out the lack of scientific articles about the discovery of the remains of Noah's Ark.

He says: "There were mostly press releases, and scientists were busy debunking them. In general, did Noah's Ark really exist? That question should be directed to archaeologists. When they say they are discovering pre-flood remains, archaeologists and geologists have the right to ask: 'When was that?' Because, apart from the Bible and other sources, we don't know much about the Flood. There are also some myths. When we find a rock formation shaped like a boat, it's worth looking at satellite images and seeing similar structures nearby. The only difference is that this formation resembles a boat. We can also, if we look closely, see a face on the surface of the moon."

According to him, even if the shape of the formation resembles a boat, this does not necessarily mean that it is a boat.

He says: "Even if it was a boat, that doesn't mean it's the same boat. It's not entirely clear how the ship was preserved in this state, because I don't know of any similar objects, and I don't think archaeologists do either. If the ship remained on the surface, how did it become fossilized? Because theoretically, it is assumed to have decomposed and disintegrated."

It is worth noting that the newspaper "Milliyet" reported earlier that Turkish scientists discovered a number of anomalies and smooth-edged cavities in the area where they are searching for Noah's Ark.
