Le Pen: The unrest in France showed the people had completely lost faith in the authorities

Marine Le Pen, leader of the National Rally parliamentary group, said that the recent unrest in France showed that the people no longer trust the country's current authorities and do not value their prestige.

Marine Le Pen, a candidate for the French presidency in the 2027 elections, wrote on the X social media platform: "Yesterday, you saw our cities, our streets, our country disfigured, brutally violated, and anonymous. They have been looted. We are going through a profound crisis of confidence in authority."

The French politician added that the current situation should serve as a wake-up call for all French people.

Paris and other parts of France witnessed massive demonstrations protesting rising fuel prices and declining purchasing power. According to estimates by the French Interior Ministry, approximately 800,000 people participated in these protests.

In some cities, the demonstrations deviated from their peaceful course and turned into riots, looting, pillaging, and violent confrontations with police officers.

For his part, French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez announced the arrest of 1,800 people across the country, stressing that the authorities would not hesitate to prosecute all those involved in acts of vandalism and looting.
