Home Affairs Minister Muhammad Tito Karnavian, as Head of the Sumatra Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Acceleration Task Force  encouraged ministries/institutions  to accelerate the implementation of various activities currently underway this year, with the hope of completing them before December 31, 2026.

This was conveyed by Tito to the media crew after attending the Ministerial Level Coordination Meeting regarding the Progress of the Implementation of Accelerated Rehabilitation and Reconstruction After Natural Disasters in the Provinces of Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, in the Meeting Room of the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture.

Tito explained that the disaster response had previously gone through an emergency response phase focused on evacuation, victim care, and lifesaving, then progressed to an emergency transition phase. During the emergency response phase, President Prabowo Subianto deployed various national forces, including the Indonesian National Armed Forces , the Indonesian National Police , the National Disaster Mitigation Agency , the National Search and Rescue Agency , and local governments.

"During the emergency response, the President also allocated an initial budget of Rp268 billion for additional unforeseen expenses. Then, during the transition period, the President established a Task Force, with the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture as its Steering Committee Chair. Its members include all Coordinating Ministers, the National Police Chief, the TNI Commander, and the Minister of Finance," he said.
