PSMS coach Eko Purdjianto confirmed that his team's preparations were going well and was determined to take advantage of the home advantage and improve on a number of shortcomings after failing to win in the last two matches.
PSMS previously lost 1-2 to PSPS Pekanbaru, then drew 1-1 against Semen Padang.
These two results serve as a reminder for the PSMS squad not to lose concentration, especially when the match enters crucial minutes.
"The team's preparation is excellent. There's still one afternoon training session, and we've already prepared the players' techniques, tactics, and mentality. Hopefully, PSMS can play their best tomorrow and achieve the best possible result," he said.
Eko emphasized that PSIS's position below PSMS in the standings is no reason to underestimate their opponents. He believes that every match presents its own level of difficulty and requires hard work from start to finish.
"Every match is a final. We have to work hard, especially since this is a home game. The support from the fans is a huge help. We have to stay focused against PSIS," he said.
PSMS currently sits in third place in Group A with 11 points, while PSIS sits in fourth with 10. A win would be a crucial opportunity for the hosts to maintain their top-flight lead and move clear of their direct rivals
Eko admitted to having studied the opponent's strengths through match recordings. However, he emphasized that the threat doesn't come from just one player.
"We've analyzed Cadenazzi's game. It's not just him; all PSIS players must be wary. They'll definitely want to steal points at our home ground," said Eko.
Therefore, he asked the PSMS defense to maintain coordination and concentration throughout the match. Even small mistakes could potentially become problems, especially since PSMS still has work to do to maintain focus until the end of the match.
