Pieter explained that it was an ideal time to undergo evaluations and improvements in the technical, physical, and mental aspects of his players.
The Dutch coach said he chose to approach the competition in stages, directing the team to achieve maximum results at every opportunity.
"For now, we're just looking at one game at a time. We're always trying to win the next game. That's what we always do," Pieter said.
PSS Sleman is on a mission to bounce back after the competition break when they play in the fourth week of the BRI Super League, and Pieter hopes his team can do just that.
However, the former Borneo FC coach explained that this situation was part of a process that had to be gone through without rushing to see the competition's progress as a whole.
Pieter assessed that the dynamic nature of the competition situation, according to him, was a learning experience for his team, as they could capitalize on the momentum by turning opportunities into profitable results for the team.
According to him, each phase of the competition has challenges that must be completed within the time limit and when facing easier opponents, PSS Sleman must get points.
"If we look too far ahead, it won't give us any strength or energy. The only thing we can influence is our next action," Pieter said.
Next, in the fourth week of the BRI Super League, PSS Sleman is scheduled to host PSM Makassar at Maguwoharjo Stadium, Sleman.
