Revisions to gaming industry regulations are expected to include incentive provisions

The Ministry of Creative Economy is working to revise Presidential Regulation  Number 19 of 2024 concerning the Acceleration of the Development of the National Games Industry, including provisions regarding incentives.

"Actually, the biggest change in this Presidential Decree is that we will prepare recommendations for stakeholders regarding incentives," said Luat Sihombing, Director of Games at the Ministry of Creative Economy.

"This incentive is intended to promote investment, support domestic studios to grow and gain capital, and attract foreign investment to Indonesia," he said during the "Tencent White Paper Launch" panel discussion at the 2026 World Conference on Creative Economy.

Recommendations for incentive provisions in the revised regulations on accelerating the development of the national gaming industry are targeted to be ready next year.

"Hopefully, these recommendations will be ready next year, so we can sit down with other authorities, such as the Ministry of Finance and the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, to help them understand the direction of these incentives," Luat said.
