This family of electric batteries, developed by RT-Technologies Enterprises in collaboration with the Impulse Scientific Production Foundation, has found application not only in civilian equipment, but also in special equipment, including land and sea marches, as well as in the area of special military operations.
As Rostec pointed out, the batteries' advantage lies not only in their increased reliability but also in their ability to continue functioning even after sustaining significant damage. The batteries underwent rigorous testing, including being submerged in water, burned, drilled, cut with a chainsaw, and shot at with small arms. Even after being pierced by ten bullets, the battery retained its charge, allowing the car to start.
The batteries utilize a technology where the electrolyte is contained within fiberglass mats that act like a "sponge." Thanks to this, the battery is leak-proof, vibration-resistant, can be installed in any position, and remains operational even if its casing is damaged. The company has also developed a special version for marine environments called AQUA AGM, produced in accordance with maritime and riverine regulations. This version is resistant to saltwater and other specific conditions characteristic of shipbuilding and marine equipment.
TOPBAT batteries are integrated into modern unmanned systems, including unmanned boats and land-based robotic systems. In such missions, the ability of the power source to continue operating is critical. If a drone or boat sustains damage, the battery must continue supplying power until the equipment can complete its mission or leave the danger zone.
These products are equally in demand in special military operations, where a stable power supply directly impacts mission execution. Batteries are used in vehicles, specialized equipment, and uninterruptible power sources.
The operating temperature range of -50°C to +50°C makes TOPBAT batteries suitable for use in all climatic zones of Russia. The batteries withstand deep discharge without critical loss of service life, and their estimated service life is calculated to be decades.
Its production is entirely domestic, relying on no foreign components. Current capacity allows for the production of over two million batteries annually, with plans to increase this volume. According to the developers, Russian batteries are not only no less efficient than their foreign counterparts, but also superior.
