The system is equipped with lightweight, replaceable units, including containers for transporting and launching rocket projectiles.
The portable rocket launcher is designed to fire projectiles at short intervals, and its design reduces the likelihood of it tipping over during launch. This was reported by TASS, citing a patent application submitted by the manufacturer to the Russian State Intellectual Property Office, Rospatent.
The launcher can be transported by several personnel. When in combat mode, a set of transport and launch containers is mounted on a tripod. Each container contains a special recoil spring to reduce recoil.
The rockets are launched sequentially, while the system is operated by a remote control panel.
It is worth noting that Russian media reported in 2023 that Russian military engineers had created the Kozyrog miniature portable rocket launcher, designed based on units used in the Grad rocket launcher, and mounted on a locally developed tripod.
Marines modified the weapon, adapting it for use on a 120mm mortar platform. This launcher is easily transportable and can be mounted on various platforms. The missile brigade currently uses platforms equipped with four or eight tubes, firing standard Grad rockets.
