The competition witnessed the brilliance of a number of Russian swimmers, as Evgenia Chikunova won the gold medal in the 200-meter breaststroke race, after recording a time of 2 minutes and 17.23 seconds, while Kirill Prigoda took first place in the 100-meter breaststroke race with a time of 55.98 seconds.
Yegor Kornev also shared the gold medal in the 100m freestyle race with Australian Cameron McEvoy, after the two finished the race with the same time of 45.24 seconds.
As for the silver medals, Kornev won two silver medals in the 50-meter freestyle and 50-meter backstroke races, while Chikunova added a silver medal in the 100-meter breaststroke race with a time of 1 minute and 4.50 seconds, and Prigoda achieved a silver medal in the 50-meter breaststroke race.
As for the bronze medals, they went to Daria Klepikova in the 50-meter freestyle, Alexandra Kuznetsova in the 50-meter backstroke, and Arina Surkova in the 50-meter butterfly.
The second stage of the competition will take place in Tashkent from October 8 to 10, with Russian athletes participating under the national flag and accompanied by the national anthem.
