Real Madrid TV has escalated its attack on Barcelona and Spanish refereeing ahead of the highly anticipated El Clasico match, claiming that the Catalan team's players are now influencing refereeing decisions during matches.

The criticism came after the controversy surrounding the Barcelona-Real Betis match, after several Barcelona players asked referee Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea to review a controversial incident involving a possible handball in the attack that ended with Giovani Lo Celso's goal.
According to the Spanish newspaper "Sport", Real Madrid TV used the incident to direct harsh criticism at Barcelona players, using a sarcastic phrase to describe what awaits the Royal team in El Clasico.
The channel said: "Real Madrid will have to face 17 referees in El Clasico, three on the field, the fourth official, the video assistant referee and his assistant, in addition to 11 Barcelona players, who are also referees."
The channel added, in a new escalation of the refereeing controversy: "With 17 referees, the task becomes extremely complicated. Now Barcelona players decide which footage is reviewed via video technology and which is not, because they have also become referees... They are the ones running the matches, it's a scandal."
The Madrid-based channel also expressed doubt about the absence of any consequences for what it described as transgressions, considering that what happened raises concerns before the upcoming confrontation between the two rivals, and pointing out that such incidents may have consequences in other leagues.
Real Madrid TV's attack was not limited to Barcelona, but extended to the controversy that accompanied the Royal team's match against Sevilla, as the channel defended the Turkish player Arda Guler in his clash with Sevilla player Pique, and criticized what it considered to be media focus on the incident, in contrast to ignoring other situations that the player was exposed to.
This escalation comes at a time of rising tension ahead of El Clasico, which pits Real Madrid against Barcelona on October 25, amid renewed controversy over refereeing and video technology.
