Saudi Arabia is scheduled to host the tournament from January 7 to February 5, 2027, with the participation of 24 teams. The matches will be held in 8 stadiums distributed across three cities: Riyadh, Jeddah, and Khobar.
The local organizing committee confirmed that work is continuing according to the plans set for hosting the tournament, stressing coordination with the Asian Football Confederation and relevant authorities to ensure organizational and operational readiness before the start of the competitions.
The committee explained in an official statement that preparations are continuing in various organizational and operational aspects according to the approved timetable, including equipping the stadiums, facilities, and accompanying services, with the aim of providing an integrated experience for the participating teams, fans, and media coming from all over the continent.
The committee stressed its commitment to providing the necessary resources to ensure the success of the tournament, in coordination with the Asian Football Confederation and relevant authorities, with the aim of delivering a tournament befitting the Kingdom’s stature and organizational capabilities.
This confirmation comes amid concerns following reports of security developments in the region, including news of missile attacks targeting the vicinity of the capital, Riyadh, and reports of attacks targeting King Khalid International Airport, in addition to the interception of cruise missiles in Saudi airspace.
Despite these developments, the committee confirmed that work will continue according to the approved timetable, noting that coordination with the relevant authorities will continue to create the appropriate conditions for holding the tournament.
So far, the organizing committee's stated position is focused on continuing preparations as scheduled, without any mention in the statement of a change in the tournament's date or hosting plans.
