According to what was reported by MBC Egypt, Salah spoke with some of his close associates about his feeling that he did not receive the appropriate appreciation for his role as captain of the national team, indicating that the player believes that he intervened in previous crises concerning the technical staff and some players in order to contain situations and prevent clashes, but he does not feel that this role was met with the appreciation that he sees as appropriate for his position.
The report added: "Salah decided to respect his career with the Egyptian national team and leave the camp quietly, as he may retire from international football if a meeting is not held with Hani Abu Rida, the president of the Egyptian Football Association, to resolve the crisis urgently."
Salah is currently preparing to return to Türkiye and rejoin Trabzonspor, who have a busy schedule ahead of them after the international break.
Trabzonspor will play 5 matches in 16 days, starting with a match against Samsunspor on October 10 in the Turkish League, then a match against Kubuyun Balosura on October 15, before facing Besiktas on October 19, then Scottish Hearts on October 22, and Rizespor on October 26.
