Barcelona, under the leadership of German coach Hansi Flick, continues to achieve outstanding results, having regained its strong form and maintaining its lead in the Spanish league standings with a perfect record.
Barcelona remains a strong contender in the 2026-2027 season, having made a historic start in the Spanish League by winning all seven of its matches so far, scoring 31 goals and collecting 21 points, which puts it at the top of the standings in an impressive manner.
They now need to beat Getafe on Saturday evening at the "Spotify Camp Nou" stadium to equal the best start in the club's history in La Liga.
Barcelona’s stadium holds very difficult memories for Getafe, who throughout their history have not been able to achieve any victory against the Catalan team in their stronghold. During 21 encounters that brought the two teams together in Barcelona in various competitions, including 19 matches in the Spanish League and two in the King’s Cup, the home team achieved 17 wins compared to 4 draws.
Getafe have not tasted victory at Barcelona's stadium since the start of their encounters, and the Catalan team has achieved a series of 8 consecutive matches without defeat against their guest on their home ground since the goalless draw that brought them together in 2018.
The last encounter between the two teams ended with a 2-0 victory for Barcelona at Getafe's stadium with goals scored by Firmino Lopez and Marcus Rashford, while the last match in which Barcelona hosted their rival ended with a 3-0 Catalan victory in a match held at the Johan Cruyff Stadium due to Camp Nou renovation work.
